We need bold provincial Government leadership to pull Ontario out of the maelstrom of the recession, to remain committed to strategies for poverty reduction in our province, to create jobs, to provide opportunities for education, including early childhood education, affordable day care, affordable and sustainable housing, to introduce social assistance reforms that enable dignity and opportunity.

Why don't they look at the yearly income of the poor. If an overpayment is made Canada Revenue informs Social Assistence and they take the money back. So why is it that it cannot be decided that anyone making less than $20,000 a year lives essentially in poverty and any funds given to someone up to that ceiling is basically helping combat poverty.
